The Notebook were formed in 2006 by songwriters Richard Marsham (keys) and Rory Mansfield (guitar). Joined in 2007 by Zebedee Budworth (drums) and James Francis Freeman (bass), the band spent two years writing, rehearsing, recording and perfecting their material before they even considered playing live. In 2009, and now joined by Danny Curtis (guitar), their preparations paid dividends as they concentrated on gigging, establishing themselves on the UK live circuit and building up a loyal following.
They have several EPs to their credit, including Broken Up and the acoustic Apathy Will Not Save You, (both 2009), with at least two further EPs scheduled for 2010 release on their own Coal Shed Records. Influences include Nick Cave, Beirut, My Bloody Valentine, and Richard Hawley.
